THEODORE T. POULOS. Ted Poulos is a partner at Cotsirilos, Tighe, Streicker, Poulos & Campbell specializing in federal criminal defense. Since joining the firm in 1992, he has represented individuals and companies involved in a wide array of federal grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions.
Mr. Poulos has handled criminal matters concerning public corruption, RICO, securities fraud, bank fraud, mail and wire fraud, defense contractor fraud, health care fraud, environmental offenses, price fixing, bid rigging, perjury, bribery, kickbacks and tax and drug offenses. He has defended numerous individuals – including corporate executives, physicians, public officials and police officers – charged in federal district courts around the country.
Mr. Poulos has also represented and defended clients involved in securities fraud investigations and enforcement actions before the SEC, CFTC and NASD. In addition, he represents attorneys in matters before the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.
Mr. Poulos has extensive trial experience having tried over 20 criminal cases before juries in federal courts in Chicago, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, Fort Wayne and South Bend. He also has handled numerous appeals in the federal courts.
Prior to joining Cotsirilos, Tighe & Streicker, Mr. Poulos served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago from 1987 to 1992. During those years, Mr. Poulos earned several Special Achievement Awards from the U.S. Attorney and was a recipient of the Department of Justice Director's Award for Superior Service as an Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Mr. Poulos received a B.A. from Purdue University and received his J.D. degree from the Loyola University School of Law, cum laude.
